Switzerland: Lugano to host the sixth World Forum for Peace, called “Social Justice”

The association Culture Ticino Network of Lugano will be hosting the sixth World Forum for Peace, called “Social Justice”, on 12-14 November. The idea, the promoters explain, is to “bring all generations closer to the culture of peace and solidarity, through debates, reflections, socialisation, workshops, entertainment and tailor-made activities, with social justice at the centre”. On Saturday 12th November, starting at 03.30 pm, Villa Sassa in Lugano will hold the opening day, with music, the official opening and a workshop with many guest speakers, such as Sister Anna Monia Alfieri, Piera Levi-Montalcini, Fabrizio Mazzonna, journalist Antonio Franzi, as well as some politicians, and Father Abramo Unal of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch. The Spyri Prize, an official recognition created by the association to reward people who have stood out for their charitable deeds in Switzerland and in the rest of the world, will be awarded too. For the full programme of the following days or to register, visit The brochure with information about the World Forum for Peace and the official programme is available at:
