(Strasburg) “I am sorry the majority of MEPs didn’t support the position prepared by me and the legal commission. But that is part of the democratic process”. German EPP MEP Axel Voss spoke those words about the vote though which the European Parliament stopped the negotiation mandate on the copyright directive. “We’ll go back to this theme in September, with a further evaluation, in order to try and answer citizens’ concerns, updating copyrights to the modern digital environment at the same time”. Now the position of the Parliament will be debated, amended and voted during the next plenary session in September, in Strasburg.
